Fall weddings are pretty fabulous. I had the privilege of shooting a wedding at Tree Haven which is a gorgeous venue hidden off a dirt road in North East Texas. Chance and Taylor had a magical wedding day. It was full of many special moments, including a first “not” look where Chance prayed over their marriage. The excitement was buzzing throughout as this day has been highly anticipated for over a year now. Here’s a little of their story:
How They Met
Chance and Taylor met through mutual friends at a New Year’s Eve Party. She didn’t really think he was interested because he didn’t pay much attention to her at the party. However, they did end up going on a first date to Chili’s and she brought her little sister just in case it was a flop. Much to Taylor’s surprise, it was quite the opposite and the rest is history!
She Said Yes!
After some time had passed, Chance decided to propose in Juneau, Alaska. They were on a trip with his family for his parents’ 40th wedding anniversary. Chance told her they were going to take some photos together because of the gorgeous scenic view behind them. Then he got down on one knee and asked Taylor to spend forever with him. Woohoo!
The Big Day
The third of October could not have been more perfect. We joined the girls that afternoon as they were finishing up their hair and make-up at the infamous tree house at Tree Haven. I quickly grabbed all of Taylor’s detail items to start capturing them. As I looked the venue over, it was filled with little touches of detail all throughout. The couple had a table with photos in memory of their loved ones. They also refurbished a wooden chest that the groom’s dad built and served as their guestbook. A little wagon was painted for the tiniest of flower girls to ride in.
They tied a rope cord together during the ceremony to symbolize a cord of three strands is not quickly broken as the bride’s dad sang. Tacos and donuts were served to the guests. The bridesmaid dresses were the prettiest shade of light gold and the groomsmen wore superhero socks. They tied the knot right before sundown. Chance had that dip kiss down to an art as we were are all able to witness it numerous times throughout their magical day. Taylor’s parents also gifted the couple with a hand-painted personalized bible at the reception. Taylor and her dad surprised everyone with a fun coordinated dance during their father-daughter time. The guests had a great time dancing and the newly-weds exited to sparklers lifted high in the air.
Chance and Taylor, What an honor to be a part of your special day! Thank you thank you thank you for asking me to capture this day for you! I hope you love these photos and that they fill your home with joy through all the years to come. With love, Emilee
