Hey friends! I’m back with another East Texas vendor spotlight. This time I’m featuring Chris Frazier who is an East Texas DJ. He also offers several other neat services you can incorporate into your wedding or event. I met Chris through his wife Rachel when I photographed her doctorate photos. I then had the honor of photographing their wedding. About 6 months after that, I actually got to photograph a wedding that Chris dj-ed and I can truly say he is excellent at what he does. He keeps the party hoppin’ and everyone dancin’! You will not be disappointed if you hire him. Look below to learn about Chris and book him for your wedding!
How did you get into DJ-ing?
My first time using a turn-table was back in 2015, working in Marshall ISD as an after-school coordinator. Students were struggling with math and Virtual DJ was a great tool to help students be more engaged with their learning while creating a fun and diverse learning space. I loved how music brought out the good in people and it encouraged me to step out and venture into the DJ world. Later, I ran into buddy “Ben Weinert” owner of BK Entertainment and he showed me what the business was about. I’ve always been a servant and loved the idea of serving couples on their special day and creating happiness with my music.
What services do you provide?
I offer DJ services for Weddings, Corporate and Private parties, Birthdays, Proms, etc. I also offer Up-lighting, Bartending Services & a Magic Mirror that sends any event over the top.
What does your booking process look like?
My booking process is pretty easy. When clients are ready to save their dates a $100 deposit will secure your spot. (Emilee here, adding that you can book Chris at www.bookdjfrazier.com)
What’s been your favorite experience since the start of your business?
I’ve had the privilege to work with couples in throughout Texas, South Carolina, Dominican Republic. The best experience since starting my business is to couples share their excitement with friends and family. This my version of therapy for society and it brings me joy knowing that I helped create long-lasting memories.
Do you work other events aside from weddings? What’s your favorite thing about working weddings?
Other than weddings I often do bartending for small events and do videography in my spare time. FAVORITE thing I enjoy at weddings is the cake lol. I have a sweet tooth and the best tip and couple can offer is a to-go slice of cake lol.
Where is the most interesting place you have ever DJ’ed?
I got to DJ in the Dominican Republic and it was beyond beautiful. It was my first time leaving the country and I was excited about spending a whole week on the ocean front.
Biggest wedding day challenge?
This is a tuff one lol. I think my biggest challenge is not forgetting my computer charger. My wife makes sure to place an extra computer charger in my truck so I won’t call her to bring it to an event lol.
What’s one thing people don’t typically know about your business that you wish they did?
I use to be TERRIFIED of the microphone lol.
What piece of advice would you give brides and grooms to ensure their big day goes off without a hitch?
Relax, breathe, stay calm and focus on the day. The day goes by extremely fast, and the last thing you want to do is have your hands in everything. Have fun, it’s a blessing that everyone doesn’t get to experience.
I’m sharing some photos from the reception of the Bundy wedding where Chris was the DJ. See more featured vendors on my blog here!
