Katie and Colton got married at the Longview Arboretum on Friday, October 8th and then asked me to photograph their reception on the 9th at The Postmark in Daingerfield, TX. I met the lovely couple at Greer Farm where Katie got ready and put her dress on. The newly married Clairs exchanged letters before their portraits together. They ended their portrait session with a shot of Wild American Honey. We then headed to the venue where we proceeded to take family photos before guests arrived. The Postmark has a cool industrial downtown vibe to it and they had it decorated beautifully. Katie and Colton are two-steppin’ pros so once they made their grand entrance, their first dance was the MOST impressive. Guests grazed on heavy hors d’oeuvres and laughed amongst one another. The groom shared with me his love for a special cake on the groom’s table that his Nana made. He asked her to make it for the reception because she has made it for him his entire life and he wanted this special occasion to have this dearly loved cake at it too. Of course, after he shared that incredibly sweet story, I had him go get his nana, so they could take a photo together. Friends & family danced the night away and I ended my time with the Clairs with them kissing outside the venue with the glow from the streetlights.
A word of thanks:
