Adkins Maternity Session

The sun was setting and we didn’t have much light outside. I had just gotten home from a long road trip. I pulled in their driveway which was full of cars. Their family had gathered to celebrate Christmas Eve together. Back in November when I debuted my new website, I hosted a giveaway that Lacey had won. Her sweet sister-in-law called me a week ago asking if there was any way I would be able to do maternity photos before Lacey finished her pregnancy at the hospital. She wanted to gift this session to them, so that they could use their free session later once those sweet babies arrive. I knew we were going to be out of town and wouldn’t be back until Christmas Eve. I told her I would see what we could do. Thankfully, I made it back in time to take some photos for them and it was a complete honor to be able to capture these photos for Lacey and Garrett.

If you have been following their journey on facebook, you know all that they have endured to have these 2 miracle babies. If not, let me share a little of their journey with you.

“For 1,126 days we desperately prayed for the Lord to bless us with a baby. We tried countless fertility medications, treatments, and procedures, 3 failed IUIs and 1 round of IVF. Praise the Lord, IVF worked the first round and we were blessed to be pregnant with not one, but two precious miracles. We were so excited when we found out we were having a boy, Rylan Kyle, and a girl, Sydney Kate. I had textbook IVF where everything went perfectly and the pregnancy for the first 20 weeks was amazing with only a few very minor bumps in the road. At 20 weeks and 3 days, my water broke very unexpectedly for Baby A (Rylan) and our lives were turned upside down. I am now 21 weeks and we are not sure what our journey is going to look like for the next few weeks but we know the Lord is hearing all of our prayers and that above all else, He is still good. Even though we have been told Rylan will likely not make it because he has little surrounding amniotic fluid left, we know the Lord is the Great Physician and can do miraculous things for our baby boy. And we are so thankful that he has brought us this far and that He will continue to guide us during this scary time. While we would never have chosen to go down this path to parenthood, we know that this is a part of His plan and He is using our testimony to bring praise and glory to His name. We would love if you can join us in prayer as our journey continues for our sweet twins. If you don’t know my Jesus, please take a look at our story and see His faithfulness unfold. #journeytoadkinsbabies” -Lacey Adkins

Taryn, thank you for reaching out to me last week. I loved photographing your brother and sister-in-law. Lacey and Garrett, you two were an absolute delight. Lacey, you are a stunning mama-to-be. You radiate love. You will be a wonderful mom.

Sometimes we get the opportunity to capture such a sacred moment in time. I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to share these precious photos with you.

How precious are these booties Lacey’s great grandmother made?!

I just love these photos of them dancing in the nursery. So sweet!
